In many newer versions it is mentioned as 'shimle di raahe', but that is not the actual version.

Before being under the british rule Shimla was under the rule of Gurkhas upto 1819. And shimla can be seen more as a frontier region rather than a cultural centre, a status which it acquired later.

But that's the beauty of folk music. It adapts according to culture and time.
